Got a phone call with message that I was being sued by the IRS and to call back.
I knew it was a spam, but I called back and the guy just answered hello in a foreign accent and it sounded like he was washing dishes.
I said I got a phone call that I'm returning and when he asked my name I asked him who this was, and then he hung up.

MAJOR SCAM! Don't give them any information!
I got a call from this number, which was a recording stating that this was my last chance to contact the IRS regarding a pending law suit against me. In a panic, I called, and a man with a thick Indian accent picked up. In the background were many voices--a loud call center. My baby was screaming and I was flustered, so before I got my wits about me, I did tell him my first and last name so he could "pull up my information." With just my name, he told me that I owed $3,989 in unpaid taxes to the IRS, and that there was a warrant out for my arrest, and that if I did not "resolve the balance" with him over the phone, the cops would be at my doorstep soon to arrest me. The longer the conversation went, the more suspicious I became. I asked him his name. He told me "Patrick Rosen." Yeah, right. I asked where he was calling from (apparently, he forgot that I called him). He said he was calling from "Internal Revenue Service Headquarters." So I started getting sarcastic with him, and asked him if he was about to ask me for my credit card information. Once he understood I wasn't buying it, he started laying on the threats, telling me he personally was going to call the cops on me if I didn't resolve the matter right now, and that I would be arrested---and that MY BABY would be arrested. At that point, I was half yelling and half cracking up, asking him to repeat that he was going to have my infant child arrested. He insisted, yes, that the cops would also put my baby in jail. So I told him to go to hell and hung up.

Scary voicemail! I just received it a few minutes ago. Not going to call back. The local news station had a report on this recently. In the report, the IRS said they (IRS) do not reach out by phone, but they do call back. All their correspondence is done by mail. They recommended hanging up and NOT giving any information over the phone - especially credit card numbers. The scam they were reporting on actually had a 202 (Washington DC) area code.

I called from work and the line kept ringing and ringing no answer. I work in a Newspaper and I think is the reason why they did not answer. I called back 5 minutes later and it went straight to voice mail. I got the same message saying they've made several attempts to reach me, a lawsuit will be filed, blah, blah, blah, I called the number back a lady who spoke bad English ( I think she was from India) when I asked what this was regarding she hung up.
I am pretty sure it's a SCAM.......
User It's a scam reported on Thu, 11th of Aug 16, 9:11

Yep, I received the same call as all others described. Lawsuit, etc. This is why I don't answer random numbers. I don't want any contact with scammers, sometimes just by answering you end up giving out your name and number.

I got a call from this number and it was a recorded message saying they've made several attempts to reach me, a lawsuit will be filed, blah, blah, blah. I called the number back from another phone not listed to me and just got a generic non-identifying voicemail message and the mailbox was full so it wouldn't except any messages. Seems like a scam to me.
User Total Scam reported on Thu, 11th of Aug 16, 7:11

I received a call today from this number and they left an automated voice mail which stated they had tried numerous times to get a hold of me and this was the last call they would be making. She went on to say they were from the IRS and that there had been a lawsuit filed against me and I needed to contact them right away. I will not be calling them and deleted the message.
User is this a scam? reported on Wed, 10th of Aug 16, 17:29

I recieved a call and a message. The message stated almost exactly the same statement as the other comments posted on this page. they claim to be from the IRS. I plan to call the IRS and see if there is a department at the IRS that I report this too
User Annonymous reported on Wed, 10th of Aug 16, 15:38

I am pretty sure this is a scam. I called back and gave him my name ONLY and the man supposedly pulled up my records from the year 2012 - 2015 and told me I defrauded the IRS by filing amounts incorrectly. He didn't ask for any information other than my name and when I gave it to him, he said my name incorrectly. I'm pretty sure if this was actually the IRS, he would need additional information other than my name and there is no way he could pull up my information by my phone number because I called from a number not listed under my name. After I tried to get additional information from him , as to what numbers he was seeing on my tax records in front of him and asked him numerous times to let me know what the discrepancy was, he told me I owed about $2K and he was looking at what I filed. I told him that cant be accurate and he told me to be ready to have handcuffs put on me. The thing is...I did not file in 2015 so I know he was lying to me. I then proceeded to ask him what he wanted from me today. I asked him if he wanted some form of payment from me today and as soon as I told him that, he completely stopped talking. I stayed on the line for a while and kept saying that I could still hear people in the background talking so I know he was still on. I stated, since he is not talking I am going to assume this is a scam and I will report it. He still did not say a word.
